So with the end of the wedding and christmas this past week, it has been an incredibly busy couple of weeks. Because of which it has taken us a bit longer to write this post, but we wanted to quickly thank everyone for being apart of our amazing wedding.

It truly was a stunning evening, a gorgeous ceremony and a fantastic party. Thank you all for coming. For those who did not receive their thank you card, we will be mailing them out shortly and for those who signed our guest book, please enjoy the Slideshow we created below.

Well, we hope everyone is getting as excited for Saturday as we are.

As a quick note to all our guests, the ceremony is set to start at 4:30pm on the dot. Please be at the Palliser and the CP Pavillion at least 15 minutes before the ceremony is set to begin. If anything we just want to make sure you are seated and comfortable for the big day.

Take care and we can’t wait to see everyone on Saturday.

Well people, today is officially November 19th and with that the wedding is officially one month away. Because of which it is time to acknowledge that the final countdown for the wedding is on.

The DJ has been booked, Johnny is getting excited, the Wedding rehearsal planned, the food has been order and everything is starting to fall into line. The two of us have been extremely busy behind the scenes getting everything in order for the big day and we think everyone is going to really enjoy what we’ve got planned.

Over the next month, we’ll post any important updates on our blog here, so please do check back.

But let’s kick the countdown off right with the most fitting of song’s. That’s right kids Europe’s The Final Countdown … do-da-do-doo, do-da-da

Song Requests Galore

No Comments » || October 12, 2009

First off, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! … Well for those in Canada who celebrate Thanksgiving.

Second, we just want to make a quick note to point out that the Song Request form is up and running on the web site. We’ve booked our DJ for the evening and we will be sending him some of the song requests we receive from you guys shortly. Sean, our DJ, has an eclectic variety of tunes for the evening. The fact he knows who Girl Talk is warms the little music nerd in the deeps of my heart.

For those interested, so far we’ve locked down two requests; with a classic band from the early 80s and a diva from American Idol locked in. So if you want to hear a different song, please hit up the song request form here.

Palliser Room Rate

No Comments » || September 16, 2009

Well hello everyone!

Things are moving into high gear at our house as we inch close to the big day. We’ve got the decor in line, a DJ lined-up and things are looking great.

We’ve had a couple of people inquire about the discounted roommate at the Palliser for our wedding. As mentioned in the invitations it is a great deal and with the cold weather and potential bad driving conditions, we really hope people take advantage of this offer. But we realized that we didn’t mention the actual Palliser code in our invitations.

So we have now updated the Details page to reflect the roomrate. When booking the room, please refer to the code CURR12009 or ask for the CURRIE wedding.  If you do run into any issues regarding booking a room, please contact us, as we’ll gladly talk to the Palliser to work things out.

The Invitations

No Comments » || August 26, 2009

It’s official. The Wedding Invites are out and the countdown to the big day is on… (We even have a tiny clock on the sidebar that tells you how much time is left.  So get your song requests in!)

Now that most of the invites have been delivered (or should be arriving shortly), we thought we’d give you a bit of an explanation as to how we made them.

In case you are wondering, these baby’s are hand-crafted by Caitlin and myself.

I know, kinda crazy. Let’s just say we’re crafty.

The basis of the cards comes from a template card set that we found at the most unlikely of places … which we are keeping a secret. The packages came with an easy to use Word/Adobe template that we used to compile the text for each invite. Which might seem wonderful until you get into the business of customizing each invite with a individual access codes for the RSVP site.

The ornate decorative accents on the invitations are courtesy of some scrap-booking stamps and a whole lot of purple ink, patience, and Caitlin’s steady hand.

If you’ve seen the web site (which you’re looking at right now) you’ll know that we’re going with a dark purple, black, white and  grey color scheme for the wedding and we wanted our invitations to reflect this combination as best as we could. We also added a unique floral elements to invitations, which were courtesy of our local neighborhood scrap-booking store. We decided to add these flowers to really enhance the ornate nature of our invites and give them a bit of a special feel. Truth be told, Caitlin just thought they were cute and wanted to put them on stuff – I said no to covering the fridge in them, so they went on the invites instead.

So that’s the gist of how the Invitations were created. It took a couple evenings of drinks, printing, stamping and patience. And there may have been an incident where someone stuck their forearm in the purple ink, but we won’t talk about that. But overall we are more than proud of the outcome.

We’d also like to thank Ryan Boley for his help with developing the WP-Plug-in that handles all of our RSVP needs. It’s a fantastic little app that allows us to track all of the responses online and in real time. So a big thanks goes out to him.

If you had a chance to checkout your mailbox over the past week, you may have notice a small tiny brown bankers envelope amongst the flyers, bills and more bills!

Mystery Envelopes

Mystery Envelopes

We know it probably caused a few odd little situations. It’s not everyday that these small little envelopes land in your mailbox. Not only did it cause you pause, but we’re sure your mailman no longer looks at you the same! So from a purely selfish stand point, we wanted to use this opportunity to not only illicit a “pardon me” from our friends and family, but we also got a chance to stir the neighbourhood you live in and encourage wild rumors of what could possibly be going on in your home – like really, who gets mail like that?!

If you didn’t recieve this little gem in the mail – sorry, it was totally Connor’s fault! We would be more than happy to send you one so that your mailman can think twice about your house. Just let us know and we’ll mail one out as soon as possible.
